Yin Yoga for Deep Rest

The transition from Autumn into Winter embodies the qualities of Yin: cold, dark, quiet. Embracing the opportunity to slow down and find rest helps us to balance the busyness of our daily lives and calm our central nervous system.

Yin yoga focuses on long held floor postures that alternately compress and release deep connective tissues improving hydration and elasticity.  This class will also focus on postures that promote the flow of energy (Qi) with a focus on the the kidney/bladder, spleen/stomach, and heart/small intestine meridians.

Restorative yoga involves supporting the body in postures that promote rest and relaxation -- options for restorative postures will be included.  We will focus on pranayama (breathing techniques) that promotes relaxation and the practice of Yoga Nidra (yogic sleep).

You can expect to leave class feeling relaxed and rested with tools to promote deep rest at home.
